Revelation
17:3 ...he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: The papacy resides in a palace with priceless treasures, is crowned with a triple crown, possessor of vast lands--it's worth inestimable.
Why is she called a mystery?
The antichrist spirit of ancient, pagan Babylon was, is not and yet is. Babylon is spoken as a byword in this day. Though seemingly long fallen, the ancient antichrist spirit of Babylon has continued throughout the millenia. No, not in the same guise but this one is no less effective than his first. He lives in the rites and blasphemies of the Roman Catholic religion. Now this ancient, foul spirit is covered by Christian names! What a Satanic coup! The queen of heaven is now...Mary! Mystery Babylon lives!

Ancient Romans begged the "numens" (spirits/gods) for favors. Today's Romanists beg the "saints". Ancient Rome had many spectacular religious holidays and festivals in its calendar year--so does today's Romanism. Ancient Romans had their own personal favorite numens/gods just as today's Romanists have their favorite "saints". If today's papist has lost something he may call on St. Joseph, if he needs traveling mercies he may call on another modern-day numen. The emperor in ancient Rome was her spiritual head or PONTIFEX MAXIMUS which the pope is known as today. This man was considered a quasi-deity and his worship an expression of loyalty and unity. Wherever the pope goes today you see adoring crowds some even crying that they can see him in person. The Vestal Virgin of ancient Rome took a vow of chastity just like the nuns of Romanism today. Who threw Christians to the lions? ROME! Eventually, Rome incorporated certain aspects of "Christianity" into its pantheon of false worship--the result? ROMAN Catholicism. It is Satan's magnum opus. A Satanic cult known to the world as "The Church"!
17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. The Catholic religion calls herself, "Mother Church". She is a mother alright but she is not the mother of Christ's church. She is the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth--both physical and spiritual. Her priests are forced celibates--yet they are serviced through various means whether nuns, whores, or victims that come to them in the confessionals. She is also mother of spiritual harlots. Her ill-gotten children profess to know Christ but do service to Satan disregarding the commandments of God in order to keep the commandments of men which papists call "tradition". "Religion in [ancient] Rome wore many faces and had many names: each new people the Romans encountered through conquest or trade seems to have added to the Roman pantheon...Roman religion, whatever its guise, had certain unchanging qualities. It was to begin with, a religion of form, of ritual, with little emphasis on the spiritual...it was an external, communal affair, rather than an internal expeirence...[The Etruscans] introduced temples and religious processions, the idea of gods with human forms, and the use of statues and images. Rome soon acquired a taste for them. When the Romans conquered the Etruscan stronghold of Veii in 396 B.C., they ceremonioously carried the Etruscans' wooden statue of the goddess Juno back to Rome and installed it on Aventine Hill. They also absorbed the Etruscan goddess Minerva and added Etruscan attributes to Jupiter."
17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the
blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great
admiration. Look for the instruments of torture and murder used in the Inquisitions, the Crusades and anywhere the Romish are in charge. Multiplied millions of souls have been killed. The Dark Ages were dark because the Roman religion was in its monstrous glory.
17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Rome is known as the city of seven hills.
17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. In the year 2000 Romanism claims a billion souls.
17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over
the kings of the earth. The pope is a secular/temporal and spiritual/ecclesiastical ruler. Nations have ambassadors to the Vatican.
