There is a lot of talk about angels these days. Satan has ignorant Christians and hellbounds alike confused. Everytime I look around, I see graven images of "angels". Making and owning these graven images directly contradicts Exodus 20:4--
Thou shalt not make unto thee ANY graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
To make matters worse, these angel figures are oftentimes in female form. In scripture, angels are ALWAYS referred to in the masculine. "Hey, wait a minute! I have some cute cherubs and they are male!" I'm not surprised. When you do see a male "angel" image, he is usually a fat, naked baby which the ignorant call a cherub. Cherub is a Bible word. Go read some Ezekiel chapters 1 and 10 to see frighteningly powerful descriptions of cherubim. These otherworldly creatures are awesome. When I think of them I think of eyes, lightning, wheels, motion, fire, wings, beastly faces, strength, might, power, obedience to God. Awesome. They don't look like a fat naked baby--at all.
The worst error of all is that people worship angels instead of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They accord great respect to "angels" and none to King Jesus. They don't know what they are worshipping. They are puffed up in their fleshly minds.
Colossians 2:18-19 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and WORSHIPPING OF ANGELS, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
They claim they are worshipping the angels of God but they are worshipping the Devil, Satan, that old serpent and the Dragon--
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an ANGEL of light.
Touched by an Angel or deceived by a spirit?
I don't know if Touched by an Angel is still on hell-i-vision or not, but don't let a sweet voice and a pretty face fool you anymore. The Devil will look like whatever you want him to look like and his ministers will even seem righteous, but when you start apply some good ol' King James scripture, THE LIE IS BUSTED UP! QUICK!

Bro. Pat mentioned the hellivision show, Touched by an Angel in his paper entitled, "God's True Purpose for Angelic Visitations in the Scripture"--
TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL OR DECEIVED BY A SPIRIT?
ABC broadcasts a series titled 'TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL.' This series is about two female angels traveling around helping people resolve their everyday dilemmas. One of the programs, aired at Christmas time, is about a boy named Joey who is scared to go outside into the dark (perhaps because his parents went out one night and never returned). One of the angels talks to Joey on his doorstep trying to persuade him to go to a church play that was to take place that night, but Joey is afraid and refuses to go out into the night. The angel then generates some kind of white light outside the house and all of a sudden Joey is not afraid. He then proceeds to his local church for a Christmas Eve Service. One of Joey's friends was to play the part of an angel in the play but Joey's friend dies and now there is no one to play the angel's role. Never fear, one of the TV angels decides to play the part. Arriving at the church, the angel straps herself into the ropes and up she goes. The person at the pulley wheel lifts her up higher and higher...but the ropes start to tear...and then they break.
Next comes the shocker, the angel suspends herself in mid air with white light gleaming and radiating around her. Keep in mind that this act takes place right in God's house. She hovers around the church with her beautiful angelic wings surrounded by milky-white glistening light. The audience is mystified, and immediately they give her honor, glory, praise, and worship. Even the music playing in the background compliments her adoration. Everyone is perplexed and raises their hands toward her to give honor, glory, and praise. In one split second scene the wise men even bow down and give her worship.
Speaking from a pure spiritual view, the music, timing of events, glistening light, and camera panning perspectives display infallible truth that the primary purpose of this TV series is to validate the worship of angels. This TV series is a prime example of the rampant [devilish] activity brewing in today's society through the use of TV.
Scripture informs us when people encounter angels in the Bible, the angels always present themselves as male gender. The TV show 'TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL' presents angels as females, an absolute contradiction to how the Bible presents them. Moreover, the only place in the Bible where female spirits are even mentioned is in the book of Zechariah:
Zec 5:7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
Notice that these two women are not called angels and have no voice contact with Zechariah. The vision of the woman in the basket symbolizes that SIN will finally be banished from Israel and transferred back to Babylon, which is the epitome of wickedness and sin...
So we can see right away that the TV show 'TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL' is [devilish] in content and filled with every kind of deception. Folks, Satan and his gang are not stupid; furthermore, they know exactly how to manufacture counterfeit circumstances that even the elect could be deceived if that were [possible]:
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
I have a tip for you, Christian Reader.
This fascination with angels is found all over the place--from the new age movement to popery (Roman Catholicism) to just about any-ignorant-body. But be all this as it may, I have a tip for the Gentle Reader this day----
BE LIKE THE ANGELS!
Psalms
103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength,
that do his
commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
What am I saying?
- BE LIKE the angels by excelling in strength of the word. Be knowledgeable and learned and wise in the midst of this foolish generation.
Daniel 11:32-33 ...the people that do KNOW their God shall be STRONG, and do exploits. And THEY THAT UNDERSTAND among the people shall INSTRUCT many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
Isaiah 50:4 The LORD God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
- BE LIKE the angels by DOING JESUS' COMMANDMENTS, not just reading them.
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and CONTINUETH THEREIN, he being not a forgetful hearer, but A DOER OF THE WORK, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
- BE LIKE the angels by HEARKENING to the voice of King Jesus. The Webster's 1828 dictionary defines hearken as
1. To listen; to lend the ear; to attend to what is uttered, with eagerness or curiosity.
Angels don't fool around. They stand CONSTANTLY prepared to hear a word from the Lord. They are EAGER to HEAR and DO His word. They REGARD His word, they give HEED to His word, they OBEY His word. What do most professed Christians do?
2. To attend; to regard; to give heed to what is uttered; to observe or obey.Sit around looking like silly worldlings. Complaining about this sin and that sin when Jesus died to OBLITERATE the curse. The whole world is out of control. The falling away IS HERE, Friend!
Truth is fallen in the street (Is 59:14) but God has a righteous remnant on this earth right now that is picking it up and exalting it--with great results. May each of us wake up and start serving the Lord Jesus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and THEY REST NOT DAY AND NIGHT, SAYING, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHICH WAS, AND IS, AND IS TO COME.
We need to BE LIKE the angels by constantly extoling the holiness and greatness of God. Just talking about His greatness and holiness pumps you up. Just confessing Jesus invigorates me. Lift Him up in season and out of season. Like the angels, we do not need to rest from this endeavour. Let me add that in order to properly extol and praise the Lord, we MUST speak in accordance with His word. As my pastor says, "you need some word in you". Sometimes people praise the Lord for something He is not out to be praised for. The King does not accept that praise. They that worship the Father MUST worship Him in spirit and in TRUTH for the Father SEEKETH such to worship Him. If your praise consists of a lie or an abomination like, "I praise the Lord for the pope" (I've seen this coming from a saved person) He rejects your ignorant words. We need to continually read the word and meditate on it and the Holy Ghost will minister knowledge, wisdom and understanding to our souls. Then we won't speak foolishly and ignorantly. And make sure that you have the word--a King James 1611 (NOT a New King James, not a NIV or any other modern "Bible" corruption) so that you will have pure, acceptable doctrine.
The more I praise the Lord, the greater He is to me and the more power I have to walk in the Spirit. God does not give us power to make us look good and spiritual--He empowers us that His name and doctrine will be glorified. When man is glorified you get people like Adolf Hitler. When man is glorified you get self-esteem, self-worth, self-assurance, self-confidence--you get the god of Self. I no longer serve Self, I serve King Jesus.
If you do not know how to extol the greatness of God, read the Psalms and start memorizing whole chapters and passages that you love. Keep saying them over and over and as the weeks and years go by they will become more and more precious to you. The scriptures will become part of your everyday conversation and the hearers thereof will be BLESSED.
We need to get our eyes off of Self and start glorifying Jesus at all costs. If we seek Him and His kingdom FIRST then the temporal needs will be taken care of. But EVEN IF I found myself living in the woods tomorrow eating crickets, Jesus Christ would STILL be the Lord.
Ezekiel 1:14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
This passage concerns the cherubim of Ezekiel's vision by the river Chebar. O how we need to BE LIKE the angels. When God gives them a command, they move like lightning to perform it. Red hot, lightning-quick to do the commands of God.
Father God, make it so in Thy people starting with me.
